The sensitivity of a radar detector is the most important feature and should be your primary concern when buying a detector. Beltronics radar detectors are pretty good. The Beltronics STi Driver was able to pick up signals every single time. Plus I liked that it was built to be undetectable by cops.

I’ve never had much good experience with radar detectors. I used one on a trip from N.C. to Ohio, and still got pulled over. Of course, it was going off, but the other guys in the car were jumping around and blasting music on the radio. So I didn’t see the detector going off until the cops lights went on.

I didn’t get a ticket, which made one of my friends mad, he said he would have gotten a ticket because he was black.
